Connect Tikroo to your LMS

Add Tikroo to Canvas, Moodle and other LTI-compatible learning platforms, and drop a Roo straight into a course.

If your school or organisation uses a learning management system (LMS), you can connect Tikroo through LTI — the standard that lets tools like Tikroo live inside platforms such as Canvas and Moodle.

What the integration does

Once Tikroo is connected as an LTI tool, an instructor can add a Tikroo activity to a course and pick which Roo to link without leaving the LMS. Students reach it through the course, and you keep your existing class structure.

This "choose a Roo from inside the LMS" step uses deep linking — when you add Tikroo to a course, you're taken to a picker at /lti/select to choose the Roo you want, and the LMS remembers your choice for that placement.

Setting it up

LTI setup has two sides:

  1. An administrator registers Tikroo as an external tool in the LMS (this is a one-time configuration for the whole institution).
  2. Instructors then add Tikroo to individual courses and select a Roo via the deep-linking picker.

The exact registration screens differ between Canvas, Moodle and other platforms, but the LTI flow is the same underneath.

Using it in a course

  1. In your course, add an external tool / LTI activity and choose Tikroo.
  2. You'll land on the Roo picker — select the Roo for this placement.
  3. Save it into the course. Students now have a path to that Roo from within the LMS.

Good to know

  • Students still join live sessions the usual way when you present — the LMS link organises which Roo, while the live PIN join runs the session.
  • If Tikroo doesn't appear as an option in your LMS, it likely hasn't been registered yet — ask your LMS administrator to add it as an LTI tool.
