Text, image, video & embed activities

Use content screens to introduce sections, show media, or embed a presentation — all from one flexible activity.

Not every screen needs a question. Content activities are the calm moments in a Roo — a title to introduce a section, an image to react to, a video to watch together, or an embedded presentation.

One activity, four flavours

In the Add activity picker you'll see separate options for Text, Image, Video and Presentation embed. They're presented separately because that's how you think about them — but they're powered by the same underlying content activity, so you can adjust one into another without starting over.

  • Text — a heading and body copy. Perfect for section intros, instructions, or a closing thank-you.
  • Image — a full-bleed image with an optional caption. See Add and crop images.
  • Video — embed a video (for example from YouTube) to play on the shared screen.
  • Presentation embed — drop in an embedded slide deck or web presentation.

When to use them

  • Introduce a section so the room knows what's coming.
  • Give a breather between intense quiz rounds.
  • Show, then ask — display an image or clip, then follow it with a quiz question about it.
  • Close the session with a summary or a call to action.

Good to know

  • Content activities don't collect answers, so players simply watch the shared screen — there's nothing for them to tap.
  • Keep text short and large. It's read from across a room, not up close.
  • Advance past a content screen whenever you're ready; there's no timer to wait on.

Already have a full deck? You may not need to rebuild it as separate activities — try Import a slide deck.
