Add and crop images

Upload an image to an activity, crop it to frame what matters, and keep it sharp on the big screen.

A good image makes a question land. You can add one to most activities, and crop it so the important part fills the frame.

Add an image

  1. In the activity you're editing, choose to add an image.
  2. Upload a file from your device (or pick from the media options offered).
  3. The image attaches to the activity and shows on the shared screen when you present it.

Crop to frame

After uploading, use the crop tool to trim the image:

  • drag the crop box to choose what's kept,
  • and confirm to apply.

Cropping is great for cutting out clutter, focusing on a detail, or fitting a landscape photo into a tighter space.

Keep it looking sharp

  • Start big. Upload the highest-quality version you have — it's presented on a large screen, so a small or blurry file will show.
  • Mind the aspect. Very tall or very wide images get letterboxed; crop to something closer to the screen's shape for a fuller look.
  • Readable text. If the image contains words, make sure they're large enough to read from the back of the room.

Trouble uploading?

If an upload fails or is rejected, it's usually the file type or size. See Media upload problems for what's supported and how to fix it.
