Import a slide deck
Bring an existing PDF or PowerPoint into a Roo as content activities instead of rebuilding it by hand.
If you already have a presentation, you don't have to rebuild it activity by activity. Tikroo can import a slide deck and turn each slide into a content activity you can present and interleave with questions.
What you can import
- PDF files, and
- PowerPoint (
.pptx) files.
Each page of the deck becomes an image-based content activity inside your Roo.
How to import
- In the editor, choose to import a slide deck from the add/upload menu.
- Select your PDF or PowerPoint file.
- Tikroo processes the file and adds the slides as content activities, in order.
Larger decks take a little longer to process — give it a moment.
After importing
Your slides are now ordinary activities, so you can:
- reorder them by dragging,
- delete slides you don't need,
- and — the whole point — slot interactive activities between them. Import your teaching slides, then add a quiz question after each section to check understanding.
Tip: imported slides come in as images, so text on them isn't editable. Keep the original file if you'll want to change wording later, or add a Text content activity alongside for anything you need to edit live.
Tidy up
Deck exports sometimes include a blank title or end slide. Delete any you don't want before you present so the session flows cleanly.
