Players can't join / PIN problems

A step-by-step checklist for when one player — or a whole room — can't get into your session.

Most join problems come down to one of a few things. Work down this list and you'll clear nearly all of them.

If one person can't join

  • Check the PIN. It's the single most common cause — have them re-read the current PIN from the main screen and re-type it carefully.
  • Right address. Make sure they're at tikroo.com/join, not a search result or an old bookmark.
  • Connection. A weak signal can stall the join. Ask them to switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data and try again.
  • Nickname taken or blocked. If their nickname won't go through, have them try a slightly different one.

If the whole room can't join

  • Is the session still live? If you restarted or re-presented, the PIN has changed — everyone needs the new PIN on screen now.
  • Read the PIN and URL aloud. A surprising number of "it's broken" moments are a mis-heard digit.
  • Venue network. Some corporate or school networks restrict browsers. If Wi-Fi is the problem, ask players to use mobile data.

PIN keeps showing "invalid"

An invalid PIN means the code doesn't match a live session. Causes:

  • a typo (re-check every character),
  • an old PIN from a previous session, or
  • the session was ended — start presenting again and share the fresh PIN.
