Supported browsers & devices
What you need to build and present Roos, and what players need to join — plus fixes for a browser acting up.
Tikroo runs in the browser — there's nothing to install for hosts or players. To keep it smooth, use a current browser on any reasonably modern device.
What works
- Modern browsers. Recent versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge are all supported.
- Any device. Phones, tablets, laptops and desktops all work. Players almost always join from a phone; hosts usually present from a laptop or desktop connected to a screen.
- Keep it updated. The most reliable setup is simply the latest version of whichever browser you prefer.
Presenting
- Present from a device you can connect to the projector or shared screen.
- Give it a stable connection and stop the screen from sleeping mid-session.
Players
- Any up-to-date phone browser is fine — no app, no account.
- On locked-down networks, mobile data is a dependable fallback.
If a browser is misbehaving
Try these in order:
- Refresh the page.
- Update the browser to the latest version.
- Clear the cache or open a private / incognito window to rule out a stale or cached version.
- Try another browser to see whether the issue follows you (that tells you whether it's the browser or the network).
- Disable intrusive extensions — aggressive ad or script blockers can interfere with interactive pages.
Still not right?
- Join trouble specifically? See Players can't join / PIN problems.
- Dropped mid-session? See Reconnecting.
